Iranian Date Harvest Season: A Supply Calendar for Importers
Knowing when each date variety is harvested helps importers plan orders around peak availability and pricing. Here’s a general harvest calendar for the varieties we export.
August
Mazafati and Kheneizi harvests typically begin in early-to-mid August, grown mainly in Kerman and Bushehr/Hormozgan respectively.
Late August – September
Piarom harvest begins in late August and continues into October. Berim and Sayer are also harvested in September, in Sistan-Baluchestan/Bushehr and Khuzestan respectively.
September – October
Zahedi harvest runs from September into October across Khuzestan, Bushehr, and Fars provinces — one of the latest and most widely available varieties of the season.
Planning Your Orders
Placing orders shortly after harvest generally offers the best combination of freshness and pricing, while low-moisture varieties like Zahedi and Piarom remain available for shipment well beyond the harvest window due to their longer shelf life. Higher-moisture varieties like Mazafati are best ordered closer to harvest time or with cold-chain shipping arranged in advance.
